In a resounding land mark judgement, the Supreme court has upheld the mandate of the people, affirming, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the authentic winner of the November 11, 2023 kogi state governorship election. It dismissed the appeal of the governorship candidate of Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, paving the frontiers of continue era of progress, and development of the state.
In a reaction to the judgement, Kogi state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners -NUP, Engr. elder, Clement Ohida, on behalf of retirees extended their warm felicitations to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, his deputy,Comrade, Elder.Joel Salifu Oyibo,kogites on the confirmation by the highest Court of the land.
Kogi NUP’ Chair praised the Governor and his team for their commitment in delivering tangible human and infrastructural development to the state, imploring him to continue to focus on delivering on improving the security networks, prompt payment of worker’s salary and pensions to the senior citizens and economic growth.
“Your leadership is a shinning example-i encourage all the opponents to put aside their political differences to support the efforts of the Governor in ensuring safety, stability and prosperity for the indigenes of the state”, Ohida quipped.
Engr. Clement Ohida, asked God in His infinite mercy to surround the Governor with renewed vigour, divine protection, strength, wisdom, knowledge, courage and clarity to navigate the state and meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people by providing sound leaderships in the period ahead.
