Hajiya Rekiya Tijani, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and Women Coordinator for Asiwaju/Shettima 2023 and Coordinator for Shauib Abubakar Audu’s Foundation, has urged Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, to declare a state of emergency on water, emphasizing its essentiality for human existence.
Speaking on Monday, Rekiya, a dedicated supporter of Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, presented a persuasive appeal, underscoring the critical role of water provision in supporting human existence, especially in Lokoja, the state capital, given its specific geographical context.
Hajiya Rekiya remarked that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a receptive leader who has achieved tangible results within a brief period in office, and expressed hope that he will bring about lasting benefits for the people of Kogi State
She praised Governor Ododo for his unwavering dedication to security, his commitment to the Kogi workforce, and his inclusive governance approach, marked by the appointment of young individuals and women to key positions.
The APC chieftain highlighted the critical importance of water provision in Lokoja and its surrounding areas, appealing to Ododo to bring relief to the affected area, who struggle to access potable water due to the long distances involved.
