….Sa’ad has pledged to oppose President Tinubu’s re-election campaign and Governor Sule’s preferred gubernatorial candidate in 2027.
Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Sa’ad, a People’s Democratic Party, PDP, representative of the Umaisha/Ugya State constituency, is encountering resistance from his party’s members and stakeholders who had initially supported him, owing to his failure to fulfill campaign promises one year into his term.
The PDP lawmaker has also double-crossed his political leader, financier, and former federal legislator who bragged about single-handedly installing him with his resources and expected him to reciprocate by supporting his 2027 Governorship ambition
Since assuming office, Abdullahi Sa’ad has failed to launch any concrete initiatives that directly benefit the constituents of Ugya/Umaisha, unlike his predecessor, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who spearheaded various projects encompassing road construction, education, agriculture, empowerment, security, and strategic appointments for Toto LG stakeholders.
Sa’ad’s exclusive effort was to appeal for palliatives from the Nasarawa State Government and the All Progressives Congress, APC, to share with the constituents of Umaisha/Ugya, despite his opposition to the ruling government.
In a span of one year, the people of Toto Local Government most especially the people of Umaisha/Ugya state constituency have uncovered the true nature of their representative and are displeased with his inadequate representation at the assembly, which falls short of the standards set by his predecessor, Rt. Hon Balarabe.
In the lead-up to the 2023 election, the now PDP legislator made a promise to provide rural women from Shege and Katakpa axis with a monthly allowance of 50,000 naira to enhance their economic empowerment, but sadly, this promise has yet to be realized.
It is alleged that Sa’ad, having reneged on his campaign commitments, attempted to clandestinely defect from the PDP and collaborate with select desperate APC members who failed in their political bids, pending the successful infiltration of the Balarabe-led Toto LG APC leadership with the complicity of local politicians lacking credibility.
It has been reported that Sa’ad of the PDP recently held a meeting with certain APC members in Toto LG who are still recovering from their unsuccessful political endeavors, offering them a condition for rejoining the party: they must be capable of ousting Rt. Hon Balarabe from party leadership, expressing discontent that the Appeal Court’s decision to remove Balarabe from office did not also divest him of party leadership.
He noted that Balarabe’s influence extends to Toto LG, and the only means of defeating him in 2027 is to install new party executives during the upcoming congress, a previously undisclosed strategy now revealed.
At an unproductive meeting in Toto LG, Sa’ad and a select group of ineffective politicians formulated a strategic approach to politically undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection prospects and the potential Governorship candidate supported by Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, in the 2027 polls.
At the unsuccessful conclave, the PDP lawmaker conferred tactics to counter President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule, expressing conviction in the support of his duplicitous associates from the ruling government and a few defectors in the 13 LGAs to covertly effectuate their plan, ensuring an advantage in the upcoming governing party’s Congress by manipulating the Governor’s structure for their self-serving purposes.
Therefore, it is now incumbent upon Sa’ad and his colleagues to disclose their methods for disrupting the APC’s cohesion in the lead-up to 2027.
