…Host NSG delegation on mining sites, invite potential investors

Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Baba Yahaya, Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, pledged unwavering commitment to fostering development inline with his administration’s core values.
Yahaya gave the charge when he received a high-level state government delegation on mining sites at his office in the council secretariat on Thursday.
The delegation, headed by Mohammed Ali Doma, visited Toto, specifically the Chairman’s office, to seek his support in checking the excesses of miners, in line with the instructions of Nasarawa State’s Executive Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule.
The Chairman who officially assumed office today, Thursday, played host to a high-powered delegation from the Nasarawa State Government to tour mining sites and converse with key actors on how to improve the revenue generation
Alhaji Mohammed Ali Doma, leader of the delegation, said they were in Toto LG on the orders of Governor Abdullahi Sule to verify the licenses, operational guidelines, and revenue remittances of mining operators, as well as their social corporate responsibilities to host communities.
Ali Doma thanked the chairman for warmly receiving his team during their unexpected visit to the council and congratulated him on his election, wishing him God’s protection and guidance throughout his term.
A press release from the Toto LGC Secretariat issued by Haggai Iliya, the information Officer said Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya responded by expressing sincere gratitude to God Almighty for his ascension to the position of Chairman, and also paid tribute to Engr Abdullahi Sule, who has been instrumental in his success.
He emphasized that meeting with mining operators in the area was a key objective, acknowledging his first day in office and expressing gratitude to the State Government for their timely intervention, while promising to supplement their efforts.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his exceptional humility, encompassing leadership, unwavering focus, and steadfast determination to provide outstanding governance to the people of the State.
According to the Chairman, his administration will maintain a strong partnership with the State Government. His statement was: “I have just taken office to drive efficiency and progress.”
“Ensuring that all mining operators will be summoned for a meeting to discuss and claim what is rightfully due to the LGC and State at large.”
The council chairman assured citizens, miners, and investors utmost safety while committing to enhance revenue generation in the area.
