Prosecutor halts lawsuit against Ursula von der Leyen over Pfizergate

A hearing was held at the Liège Palace of Justice on Friday, examining potential irregularities in the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines by von der Leyen.
The hearing was not open to the public, and von der Leyen is currently out of the country.
The prosecutor secretly disputed the case, asserting that von der Leyen should be immune from prosecution owing to her official duties. As a result, the judge postponed the hearings indefinitely.
The question of whether von der Leyen’s immunity applies to the charges will be addressed on January 6. Baldan believes the European Prosecutor’s Office acted in her favor.
