APC hails Kalu’s appointment to head South East Development Commission committee

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC, Abia-North) has received appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South East Development Commission (SEDC) by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, alongside Senator Ken Eze (Ebonyi Central) as Vice Chairman.

Reacting to the development, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bende local government area chapter, welcomes the appointment of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as chairman of the South East Development Commission committee by the Senate leadership.

Kalu, a former Governor of Abia state, currently represents Abia North district in the upper legislative chamber of National Assembly for a second term.

In a statement on Friday signed by the Bende local government area chairman, Hon Prince Ulu Onwuchekwa, and the Secretary, Comrade Igwe Chibuisi Agu, the APC expressed gratitude to the President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, for considering Kalu worthy to supervise and oversee the affairs of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

The party thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the endorsement of more regional commissions in the country, noting that the establishment of regional commissions would enable quick development in the regions.

The APC leadership expressed total confidence in the ability and capacity of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s experience both in private and public sectors, to perform wonderfully well during assessments.

“We pray for more grace and wisdom as he discharge his lawful duties diligently”, the party added.
