Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has been commended for his notable contributions to society during his tenure, marked by leadership that emphasized inclusivity, eschewing tribal or religious biases, and positively influencing many lives.
The Former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi represented the constituents of Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State, where he delivered dividends of democracy, facilitated road construction, established schools, initiated empowerment programs, and secured appointments for indigenes in the State cabinet.
Balarabe is the current Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu in Yobe State, Nigeria and has been described as a visionary leader who has etched his name in gold in the annals of history.
These accolades came from various quarters, including his constituency, the State, and beyond, as people celebrated his 62nd birthday today, February 14th, 2025.
He received accolades for his leadership qualities while serving as Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly from June 9th, 2015 to November 28th, 2023, and holds the distinction of being the longest-serving Speaker in the history of the State Assembly, with the highest number of bills passed in both the 5th and 6th Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
Balarabe Abdullahi was also praised for his recent efforts in securing employment and political appointments for many citizens, aside from his notable record-breaking achievements as Speaker for eight-and-a-half years in the State, even after leaving office.
His people acknowledged his peace and development initiatives in the State, particularly in Toto LG, where they recognized his pragmatic efforts that led to the installation of Ohinoyi Ogye after a decade of vacancy, in addition to the institution and installation of several village heads in the area.
