Oborevwori’s development agenda resonates across Delta, says Aniagwu
Delta State Government, Monday, said the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda is manifesting in all parts and across all sectors of the state.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, stated this on “Politics HQ” on News Central Television, monitored in Asaba.
While responding to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s allegations of marginalisation of Delta South Senatorial District, Aniagwu said the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda resonates in all the 25 local government areas across the state.
He said, “The tactics of our brother, the former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is to live in the past where they always want to divide the state to create an impression that Mr A is not a brother of Mr B.
“We have been able to ensure that the different ethnic groups in our state unite very competitively in such a way that they are carrying on as if there are no divides at all.
“Governor Oborevwori has been able to erase those divides taking advantage of his mode of appointments, his approach to governance, his distribution of projects among other governance philosophy.
“We have made it very clear that we will continue to respond to some of these unfounded critics with projects and that is what he is doing.
“A few days ago, we were in the Southern Senatorial District specifically in Warri which is our commercial nerve center and our people gave us a word for them and they said that ‘Sheriff dey show workings, nor be chor chor chor’, which means the man is showing what he is doing and what he is doing is very visible and not carry talk.
“Let me now take you to the Southern Senatorial District where the people were kind enough to give us a proper global response to those who want to paint pictures that are at variance with reality.
“Last week, the governor inspected a lot of projects starting from the Technical College at Omadino in Warri South Local Government area.
“It is a very huge Technical College that could pass for a university. That Technical College is almost ready for the students to resume and we are hopeful that by September this year the students will resume in that particular institution.
“Another major project is the storm water drainage which is aimed at deflooding Warri, Effurun and environs and they are being pursued vigorously with various phases progressing speedily.
“The Warri City Stadium has also been approved for remodeling which will most likely cost about N30 billion.
“We also proceeded to the 47 kilometer Ohoror-Bomadi Road covering five local government areas and we are intervening in over 30 kilometers of that route with accompanying culverts to allow water to flow from the eastern and western flank of that particular corridor.
“We have awarded the Aladja-Ogbe-Ijoh Road connecting Central Senatorial District to South Senatorial District and we also working on the 12.5km Okontu-Ogulaha road in Burutu Local Government Area.
“The over 18km Pepiama – Kokodiagbene – Okerenkoko Road in the coastal areas Warri South-West as well as the Bomadi Gbaregolor Road.
“I am mentioning just a number of projects in Delta South so that you can verify from the former Deputy President of the Senate if they aren’t projects on ground.”
