Labour party crisis: “You can’t put something on nothing and expect it to stand”, – Oluchi Oparah
Oluchi Oparah, the former National Treasurer of the Labour Party, has dismissed media reports referring to Julius Abure as a National Chairman of the party, insisting that Abure led executive has since been removed long before now.
However, a factional group of the Labour Party has officially denied claims that Abure was removed, stating that the Supreme Court affirmed Abure as the duly elected National Chairman, and that reports of his sacking are misinterpretations of court decisions.
The party has distanced itself from Oluchi Oparah, suspending her indefinitely since November 2023 for anti-party activities and accusing her of impersonating the National Women Leader, a position she never held.
The Labour Party has described her actions as attempts to misrepresent the party for financial gain and has warned organizations to be wary of her claims.
According to Oluchi Opara:,
“I saw the report being circulated in the media, purportedly signed by the immediate past National Secretary of Labour Party Farouk Umar where Abure and co said they have suspended the only Governor produced on the platform of Labour Party and some elected members;”

The media should know that referring to Abure as a national chairman is an aberration of law. The April 4th Supreme Court is unambiguous. The Supreme Court set aside everything that conferred the leadership of the Labour Party to Abure.
Whatever action Abure is taking holds no water and should be disregarded and seen as the last kick of a dying horse.
It beats my imagination how Abure,who was sacked by the highest court of the land intentionally undermines and defecate on the Supreme Court.
It is note worthy to state that Abure and co doesn’t mean well for Labour Party as their actions clearly states that they have now become tools in the hands of the opposition to destabilize the party.
