Prof. Mgbeke, whose real name is Dr. Sandra Duru, is a Nigerian-born US-based activist and media personality known for exposing and combating emotional blackmail, particularly targeting men.
She gained attention for publicly revealing alleged attempts by suspended Nigerian Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central District to involve her in a blackmail scheme against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, including false claims of sexual harassment and organ harvesting.
Prof. Mgbeke released phone records and messages as evidence, asserting that these allegations were fabricated for political gain and aimed at destabilizing the government.
She has positioned herself as a defender against manipulative tactics used to emotionally blackmail men, calling out what she sees as a broader agenda to destroy reputations unjustly.
Her activism includes urging law enforcement and international bodies to investigate such schemes and hold perpetrators accountable.
However, her actions have sparked controversy, with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan labeling Prof. Mgbeke’s claims as defamatory and baseless, leading to a heated public dispute and legal proceedings between them.
Despite this, Prof. Mgbeke remains recognized for her role in exposing emotional blackmail and advocating for truth and justice in such cases.
