Insecurity: Kogi Governor, Ododo promises to lead fight against criminals.
IDRIS AHMED, Lokoja.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has declared his determination to deal ruthlessly with criminals with the zeal laid by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in the fight against all forms of criminalities in the state.
Having been member and part of the system of the Yahaya Bello administration, there should be no doubt that security is one of the top priorities of his government
The Governor made the declaration on Saturday evening shortly after a closed door meeting with the Chairmen of the Care Taker Committees of 21 Local Government Councils in the state.
” As you all know, I have been part of the system of the government of our leader, His Excellency Yahaya Bello and you also know that security is one of the priorities of his government. As the Auditor General of the Local Governments, I have never been left out of the security management of our dear state and hence we enjoyed adequate security for 8 years”, Governor Ododo emphasized.
While thanking God for giving him the opportunity to continue to serve his state as the Governor, he equally thanked Alhaji Yahaya Bello for allowing himself to be used to find him (Ododo) worthy to succeed him.
He explained that the Caretaker Committee Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Councils were called for a meeting for first hand briefings on security challenges in their respective areas.
” I have given them the charge to continue to give our people the security they deserve and ensure that the people sleep with their two eyes closed and be free to go about their businesses.
” The height we have achieved in the past should not be undermined and our resolve to provide security for the people is a task that be achieved “, Ododo stated.
He promising to personally lead the fight against all forms of criminalities in the state, also commended security agencies in the state state for their wonderful performance.
The Governor assured security agencies of his administration’s determination to continue with the collaboration, cooperation and synergize as has been with the past government.
” I will lead the fight and make it hot for criminals wherever they are in Kogi State”, the Governor added.
