Adamu, Balarabe urge western zone to unite for 2027 Nasarawa governorship
Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, the people of Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone of Nasarawa State has set a ball in motion to ensure that the power rotation in the State is sustain for peace, unity and equity as well as progress in the State.
To achieve this, the party leader in the zone and the former APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu has organized a stakeholders meeting to achieve the set objectives.
Adamu who is the first civilian Governor of Nasarawa State invited critical stakeholders of the ruling APC of the western zone for the meeting in Keffi the headquarters of the Senatorial District where the Incumbent Governor Engr. Abdullahi A Sule who hailed from the Northern zone was in attendance.
While speaking at the meeting, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu and the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi went down memory lane on the political journey of the State and the impact the zoning arrangements has achieved so far.
They revealed that so far the western zone that took the first slot spent 8 years in power with Gov. Abdullahi Adamu while the southern zone that took the second shot got 12 years on power with late Gov. Aliyu Akwe Doma spending 4 years while Gov. Umar Tanko Al-makura spent 8 years and the third slot which moved to the Northern zone has the current Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule which by 2027 will be spending 8 years on power.
This they said automatically power is to be shifted to the Western Zone whom they said is ready for the task and have qualified and capable people to rule the State.
Adamu, Balarabe and other speakers at the meeting were quick to inform the gathering of the task ahead of them noting that unity and understanding must prevail against personal interest warning against betrayal.
The meeting it was reported that was well attended with politicians from the zone coming out in their numbers demonstrating their unity of purpose to achieve the only agenda set for the meeting which was power shift to the western zone.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State who was in attendance at the meeting spoke extensively on peace and unity of the party ahead of 2027 adding that when the time comes he will never pretend in making public who he wants to be his successor.
