IYD2025: YOWICAN Kogi State Encourage Youths to Stay Focused, Take Active Part in Politics

As youth across the World celebrates the 2025 International Youth Day, they have been encouraged to shun distraction and focus on their goals.

The Chairman, Kogi State Chapter of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Elder David Oladele Joel, made the call in his Message to Christian youth in the Confluence State.

Elder Joel noted that as the youth celebrates their dauz it was important to remind them the need to take part in Politics and governance, stressing that it was time to take the bull by it’s horn.

“The International Youth Day is celebrated all over the world, the Youth Wing of CAN (YOWICAN) Kogi State Chapter is using this medium to encourage all our youth and young ones to be focus on their God given dreams and goals

“The time has come for us to take a proactive and calculative steps to participate in politics and governance at all levels. I challenge all Kogi Youth particularly Christian youth who has attained the age of 18 years and yet to register for PVC to explore the window opened for continus voter registration and get registered

“By the grace of God, the time has come to take the bull by the horn, the needful will be done soonest through collaboration, seminars, training and enlightenment of our youth particularly YOWICAN, starting from our unit, ward, LGA, senatorial districts and at State Levels

“We are ready to set the pace in Kogi State just as Apostle Paul admonished Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12. We are ready to pray, participate, mobilize and vote by exercising the wisdom of God Almighty as provided in the book of Proverb 22:29

“We will use skills and participation to take over our rightful position, our tomorrow has come, and it is now. I therefore urge all the youth to shun violence, cultism, thuggery and other crimes that can affect our future. Let us embrace peace love and unity as we work together to achieve and occupy our rightful position. Happy international youth day to all our youth”
