Izeze Lauds Oborevwori for Delivering Science Lab, Computer Block in Ophorigbala
The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Urban and Highways), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful construction and commissioning of a brand-new Science Laboratory and Computer Block at Ophorigbala Mixed Secondary School in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The landmark project, which was officially handed over to the Ministry of Secondary Education on Tuesday, September 10, 2025, is part of the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to educational development and community upliftment under the “Ukodo Na Tevwe” philosophy.
According to Izeze, the project holds deep symbolic value as it was undertaken in recognition of the long years of service rendered by retired teachers and pensioners of the Delta State Post-Primary Education Board, Chief Sir Eric Dubu Onyan Obofukoro and Chief Lady Princess (Mrs.) Christiana Ewewu Obofukoro (née Mosheshe).
He noted that the facility was the singular personal appeal of Chief E.D.O. Obofukoro for over 12 years, stressing that the fulfillment of this request under Governor Oborevwori’s administration marked a dream come true for the Ophorigbala community.
“This project is not just about infrastructure; it is about honouring the sacrifices of our elders, educators, and pensioners who gave their all to build lives and shape futures,” Izeze said. “We are delighted that under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Orowhedor Oborevwori, their vision has been realized.”
Governor Oborevwori, through his directive, further ensured that the project included a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component dedicated to supporting the welfare of Ophorigbala leaders, women, and youths. This aspect, described as “stomach infrastructure,” is expected to be implemented in the coming days.
The project drew excitement across the community, with residents hailing the Governor’s gesture as a milestone achievement that would transform education in Ophorigbala and inspire future generations.
