Ugbomah Commends Oborevwori on Asaba Storm Drainage Project
Former Delta State Commissioner for Works, Dr. George Ugbomah, has praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for completing the storm drainage system construction in Asaba, calling it a visionary project that will secure the state’s capital’s future. Dr. Ugbomah noted that the storm drainage system will curb perennial flooding on major roads in Asaba and safeguard critical infrastructure across the metropolis, ensuring their longevity.
The stormwater drainage project in Asaba has been part of ongoing initiative by Governor Oborevwori’s administration to manage flood water and reduce flooding challenges in various parts of Asaba and its environs, including areas like Ugolo-Okpe, Okuokoko, and Osubi.
The projects involve extensive drainage construction to channel stormwater effectively and improve the local urban drainage network, thereby protecting homes, roads, and vital infrastructure from flood damage.
“The governor’s commitment to enhancing the livability and sustainability of Asaba is truly commendable. This project is a testament to his administration’s proactive approach to tackling environmental challenges,” he said.
He emphasized that the master drainage project offers a long-term solution to flooding in the capital city and urged residents and stakeholders to celebrate what he described as a remarkable milestone for Delta State.
