Gov Sule, Speaker Jatau preach peace, unity for State’s development

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has called on the Eggon nation and other people of Nasarawa State to continue living in peace and unity regardless of their affiliations for the development and thriving of the state.

This call was made during the inauguration of new officials of the Eggon Youth Association (EYA) in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

Engr. Sule represented by his Deputy, Doctor Emmanuel Akabe, emphasized that unity and peace among the youths are essential for development and praised the efforts of the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd), in uniting the Eggon youths.

It was reported that the event has as its theme “Eggon Unity and integration”

Dr. Akabe, who is also the Chairman of the occasion said that the importance of unity and peace to societal development could not be overemphasized, hence the need of his call in that direction.

” Eggon nation is blessed, let’s all continue to embrace unity and peace. We should forget our differences and come together as people.

” If there is no peace among the youths, there will be no development.

” Nasarawa State will be blessed, if we have unity and peace” he said.

Akabe urged the people to continue to support the government of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

” We must support the government of the day, Engr. A A Sule is working tirelessly for the unity, peace and bringing dividends of democracy to our people” he said.

He commended HRH, the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd) for using his wisdom to unite Eggon youths.

” I thank HRH, for his wisdom for unity and peace of Eggon nation and the society at large.

” This time calls for us to unite as people. God brought us together and he has reason for that, as God did not made a mistake for creating us to be together with diversity.

“And we must live together and we must respect, tolerate and we must understand each other.

” As far as this government is concern, Engr. A A Sule has brought peace among the youths.

” I want to commend HRH and stakeholders for uniting the youths for the overall development of Eggon nation” he said.

He used the medium to condole Eggon nation over the death of Sen. Solomon Aku Ewuga, the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State.

He also called for prayers for Sen. Godiya Akwashiki for his quick recovery.

Also speaking, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau appreciated Aren Eggon for uniting the youths and other people of Eggon nation.

” I want to appreciate HRH for the reform you brought to Eggon youths. I sincerely believe that your wisdom has brought unity and peace among Eggon youths and it will be an everlasting one.

” We must live in unity and peace for the overall development of the state.

” As a state, we must remain united, we should support the government of Engr. A A Sule to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

” As Excellency is doing well. Engr. A A Sule is doing well, let’s all support him to succeed..

Speaker Jatau also called on other ethnic groups to remain united saying that” unity should be our focused point”

The Speaker congratulated the President and other EXCOs on their well deserved victory at the poll and wished them well.

The Speaker donated a Sienna Car to the youths for smooth operation and to promote unity and peace across the state.

Also speaking, HRH Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd), the Aren Eggon commended the electoral committee for conducting free and fair election.

He urged the youth leadership and other youths to work together for the progress and development of Eggon nation.

” Show utmost respect to Government while remaining focused on your goals and targets” he said.

On his part, the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) Worldwide, Mr Mandy David Abuluya, has commended the Aren Eggon for his zeal and passion for peace and development as according to him the importance of peace to human and societal development could not be overemphasized.

” I also want to thank the stakeholders and ECDA leadership under my watch for our determination to unite the Eggon youths. What we are celebrating here today was as a result of our collective efforts for one Eggon Nation.

” I wish to congratulate the new executive members of the association and urge you to live above board while discharging your duties.

Abuluya urged the officials of Eggon Youth Association (EYA) to lead with the fear of God, transparency and accountability.

“These should continue to be your watch words.

” I also want to appeal to the new officials to embrace team work and to provide all inclusive leadership for the unity, peace, progress and development of Eggon nation.

” The ECDA under my leadership would not tolerate any act of division, so the youth must work together irrespective of their political and religious affiliations for development to thrive.

The ECDA President called on all Eggon youths as well as all and sundry to give their maximum support to the new official to succeed.

On his part, the Acting Chairman, Eggon Transition Committee, Alhaji Umar Anvah Ubangari said that the committee has work tirelessly to unit the Eggon youths, overcoming numerous challenges along the way.

” But determined to achieve the purpose for which HRH, the Aren Eggon set up the committee.

” Today, we celebrate a significant milestone the inauguration of the newly elected EXCOs” he said.

He urged the officials to revitalize youth activities, promote peace, support stability and drive economic development in Eggon nation.

Barr. Emmanuel Kuza while administering oath of office on the newly elected officials, urged them to abide by the oath taken.

He also urged them to live above board while discharge their duties.

Prof. U D Mohammed, the Guest Speaker at the occasion, who spoke on the topic “Effective Youth Leadership, A Tool for Peace, Unity, and Sub National Integration” urged the youth to establish leadership institute, create an annual leadership and peace award for deserving personalities that have contributed positively to the development of Eggon Youth and the nation at large.

Hon. Hassan Nalaraba, member representing Doma/Keana/Awe Federal Constituency tasked the officials on unity and peace of Eggon nation.

He said that the importance of unity and peace to society develop could not be overemphasized.

” You should integrate other ethnic groups for the unity and peace of the state.

” Without peace, there will be no development” he said.

Earlier, Hon. Iliya Ibn Aliyu, the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa Eggon LGA called on Eggon youths to continue to embrace unity and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

He appreciated the Deputy Governor, Speaker Danladi Jatau among other dignitaries for gracing the occasion.

The council boss urged the people of Eggon nation to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

Responding, Mr Friday Ozigi Haruna, the President of EYA, appreciated Eggon youths for the confidence reposed on them and pledged to work diligently to unite and develop the association.

He urged Eggon youths to set aside their differences and work together towards the upliftment of Eggon nation and the society at large.

The President pledged to reinstate Annual Eggon Youth Day to market unique talents , innovations and rich cultural heritage to the World.

It would be reported that those in attendance included Alhaji Abu Giza, 2027 APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Gen. Nuhu Angbazo, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki , Hon. Jacob Ajegena Kudu, Hon John Ovey, Members of State Executive Council, among others.
