Adamu Garba urges APC to caution FCT Minister to avoid downfall
Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to rein in Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over his role in the political crisis in Rivers State.
Garba warned that Wike’s actions could destabilize the APC before the 2027 elections, similar to how he affected the PDP.
The crisis in Rivers State involves a power struggle between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, with Wike supporting impeachment efforts against Fubara.

Reacting to the development Garba, expressed concerns that Nyesom Wike’s actions in Rivers State are excessive and could destabilize the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2027 elections.
Garba warns that if Wike continues to exert influence over Governor Siminalayi Fubara, it could lead to internal disintegration within the APC, similar to how Wike’s actions affected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the 2023 elections.

He warned that amid the growing crisis and political tension in Rivers State, the timing of actions taken by the former governor against his successor is poor.
Garba further stated that should Wike continue to act without caution, he might destroy the ruling party like he did with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He wrote on his Facebook page, “If we allow Wike to continue his overreach on Fubara in Rivers, he’ll scatter us before 2027 as he scatters the PDP before 2023.
“Amid current situation, the timing is very poor. There is wisdom in exercising restraint even when you appear more powerful,” Garba said.
