Akoko-Edo council chairman, Tajudeen Alade hails emergence of new Edo deputy governor, Marvellous Godwin

Akoko-Edo local government council chairman, Hon Tajudeen Bright Alade Esq has congratulated Edo state new deputy governor, Engr Omobayo Marvellous Godwin, who he described as a brother, on his appointment as Edo state deputy governor by governor Godwin Obaseki.
The chairman disclosed that his appointment followed the impeachment of the erstwhile deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu over perjury and disclosing of official secrets.

Hon Tajudeen Esq noted that the choice of Engr Marvelous was sequel to the governor’s determination to address the prolonged marginalization that had characterized the local government area and in response to his continuous engagements with him to help salvage the locality.
He called on the deputy governor to join hands with his administration to redefine Akoko-Edo even as he urged him to discharge his duties with the fear of God to justify the confidence reposed in him by the governor.
In his acceptance speech, Engineer Omobayo marvellous Godwin appreciated the governor for finding him worthy of the appointment, promising to do his very best to assist the governor to finish well and strong.
The deputy governor lauded the giant strides of Akoko-Edo local government council chairman within his seven months in office, noting that he would collaborate with him to fast track the development of the area.
Giving vote of thanks on behalf of Akoko-Edo people, the Imah fourth of Somorika, HRH Oba Sule Idaiye appreciated the governor for once again demonstrating his passion for the local government area through the appointment.
He particularly lauded the dogged determination of the council boss in his quest to rebuild and redefine Akoko-Edo, explaining that as council chairman, he has gone on bush combing severally with security agencies to fight criminals.
The Imah opined that under the able leadership of the chairman, the spate of kidnapping has been drastically reduced, while also stating that his regular interface with the TCN company at Okene and BEDC officials in the local government area has improved electricity supply to Igarra and environs, building of lock-up and open market stores in the various communities as well as attending to the needs of the people as a responsive government.
The revered king commended the chairman on his feat on the Ojirami dam revamp which he said had pumped water up to Akuku and Enwan communities, stating that it was still work-in-progress, grading of internal roads to alleviate the plight of commuters, rehabilitation work on all broken bridges across the local government area, his continuous engagements with the state government which he noted has led to the sighting of industries in Dagbala and Lampese, including other obvious developmental strides.
He noted that Akoko-Edo has never had it so good, praying for God’s guidance and protection for the governor in his quest to finish well and strong as well as journey mercies for all present.
