The remains of Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna Rubochi have been interred amidst heartfelt tributes and eulogies as the historic city of Rubochi welcomed an influx of sympathizers from near and far who gathered to pay their final respects.
Alhaji Isa Rubochi passed away on Wednesday, 25th September 2024, and his funeral prayers were held on Thursday, 26th September 2024, at 11:00 AM at Pilot Primary School Rubochi field ground, which was chosen to accommodate the large crowd paying their final respects.
It was noted that a substantial turnout of Rubochi residents, comprising both youth and elderly, gathered to bid a final farewell as the body was conveyed to the central cemetery in Rubochi for interment.
Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, Executive Chairman of Toto LG, paid tribute to the elder statesman’s remarkable virtues, observing that he lived a rich and purposeful life for 103 years.
The Chairman, in the company of his Deputy, the Speaker of Toto LG Legislative Council, and the APC Chairman for the area, eulogized the deceased at the funeral rites, noting the loss was shocking and immense.
According to the Toto LG Chairman, Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna Rubochi’s passing has left an unfillable gap, owing to his distinctive position as an elder statesman who provided sage counsel to both royalty and the general populace, while relentlessly advocating for peace, unity, and community advancement.
Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo expressed that the deceased was a great and honest elder, noting that his passing is a tremendous loss for the Gade nation, acknowledging that God ultimately decides the timing of life and death.
Senator Wowo lamented that Gade land has lost a great figure, likening it to an Iroko tree falling, and prayed for God to grant the deceased paradise, acknowledging the significant void left by his passing.
At the funeral rites, Chief Imam of Rubouchi, Mallam Kasim Suleiman, observed that death is a shared human experience that necessitates personal reflection and reconciliation with God, considering that every individual will ultimately face judgment based on their deeds.
In his eulogy, the Chief Imam of Rubouchi praised the deceased’s remarkable character, citing his unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity, and urged his family and others to follow his exemplary lead, while praying for his soul to find peace in Aljanatul Firdausi.
The Agabe of Gwargwada, HRH Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, noted that late Isa Rubochi’s legacy is forever entwined with Gade’s history, as his contributions to development and individual progress have secured his place in the annals of their story.
He stated that Isa Rubochi was an elder who made a difference and lived a fulfilling life, praying for God to bless his soul and legacy.
Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna Rubochi passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 103, due to a brief illness, leaving behind two wives and his younger brother, Mr. Umaru Gwamna, who served as Permanent Secretary and Programme Manager of NADP in
Nasarawa State, Mikail Isa Gwamna of FIRS FCT, Alh. Muhammed Isa Gwamna of NNPC Abuja and Jibrin Gwamna, the Chief Press Secretary to the Rt. Hon. Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly among others.
Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna’s funeral rites were conducted in accordance with Islamic principles.
