Benue Community Mourns Loss of 11 Family Members Killed in Suspected Herdsmen Attack

A devastating attack by suspected herdsmen in Edikwu Ankpali, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, has left a family in mourning after 11 of their own were killed.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday evening, resulted in over 25 deaths and numerous abductions.

Eye Witnesses described the terrifying hours without any security presence, raising concerns about the State’s escalating insecurity.

Edikwu, located near Ugbokpo, the Apa Local Government Area headquarters, is now scarred by the assault.

Ben Ekah, a member of the bereaved family, struggled to express his grief.

“We are laying to rest 11 family members today, including fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters.

This is the darkest day for our family and community.

Many are hospitalized, and others have fled in fear.”

The Benue State Police Command has not commented on the attack, leaving residents questioning when help will arrive.

As the family buried their loved ones, they were left with unanswered questions and a plea for justice.
