Football enthusiasts, Stakeholders, opinion molders, Political Office holders, among others, gathered at the Keffi Township Stadium to watch the finals of the 2025 edition of Maikaya Development Association (MDF) Annual Football Competition in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The climax of the competition saw
Black Black Scorpion Football Club defeat Golden Bridge FC, 5:4 in a penalty shootout after stalemate at the regular time, as the former were crowned Champions of this year’s edition for the Competition.
Addressing the gathering, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Maikaya Development Association (MDF), Dr. Musa Maikaya, said the month-long football fiesta was to engage youths in profitable ventures and also provide opportunity for them to showcase their talent and skills on the pitch.
The Governorship aspirant pointed out that Nasarawa State is blessed with a lot of talents in the round leather games that can change old narratives, expressing believe in a brighter future for every team that took part in the competition.
Dr. Maikaya assured the Foundation’s commitment to grassroots Sports Development in Nasarawa State, urging youth to remain focus and channel their energetic age to ventures that will earn them good name and as well, enable them contribute to the progress and development of the society.
He also commended the State Governor, Engr. AA Sule for creating a serene and secured environment in the State, describing him as a man of impeccable character with the interest of the citizens at heart.
Dignitaries at the event heep praises on Dr. Musa Maikaya for efforts and commitment to ensuring the competition sees the light of the day annually, describing such as a legacy that will stand the test of time.
A former Commissioner for Information in the State – Hon. Dogo Shammah, the Zonal Coordinator of Engr. AA Sule 2023 Gubernatorial Campaign Council – Hon Abdullahi Attajiri, former Executive Chairman, Keffi LGA – Hon. Mohammed Yakubu Dikko, Nasarawa State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress APC – Chief Douglas Otaru, other notable sons and daughters of Keffi LGA, were present at the finals of the 2025 MDF Annual Football Tournament.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of trophy, medals and prize money to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
