BREAKING: Oborevwori Woos Energy Investors for Delta at REA Roundtable
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, attended the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) State-by-State Roundtable Engagement for Delta State. The event was held on August 20, 2025, at Fraser Suites Hotel, Abuja.
The high-level forum gathered policymakers, investors, and stakeholders to explore and advance opportunities in the power sector, with a particular focus on expanding electricity access throughout Delta State.
During the event, the commitment of Delta State to leverage the 2023 Electricity Act was highlighted. The state government has made significant strides towards developing its electricity market, including the formation of the Delta State Electricity Commission and the Delta State Rural Electrification Agency to oversee licensing, regulation, and equitable energy access deployment.
The roundtable was a platform to promote innovation, ease of doing business, public-private partnerships, and people-centered energy interventions in the state.
This engagement is part of a broader strategic effort by the REA, under the Federal Ministry of Power, to catalyze clean energy investments and strengthen partnerships with state governments and renewable energy service companies in Nigeria.
The event underscores Delta State’s readiness and proactive steps toward scaling up energy access using renewable and other energy resources
Governor Oborevwori will deliver a special address at the event with the theme, “Unlocking Distributed Energy Investments for Industrial Growth and Inclusive Access in Delta State.”
