The Chairman of Kogi State National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale has expressed immense joy and satisfaction following the Supreme Court’s verdict affirming the election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as duly elected during the November 11 poll in the State
Comr. Benjamin Ojodale described the landmark judgment as a testament to the democratic process and the will of the Kogi people.
“I’m thrilled that the highest court in the land has upheld the mandate given to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo by the electorate cut across Kogi State.”
“As youth, we are particularly delighted that our governor’s vision for a better future has been reaffirmed. We are confident that his leadership will continue to inspire and empower young people across Kogi state.”

Our correspondent gathered that
the decisive judgment delivered on Friday, the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the November 11 Governorship election in the State.
However, Justice Sadiq Umar, who authored and read the lead judgment resolved all the three issues identified for determination in the appeal against the appellants.
The apex court also dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of Action Alliance, Mr. Olayika Braimoh.
While the appeal challenging the date of filing of the appellant’s notice of appeal on 26/07/2024, the court held that the appellant cannot rely on the Interpretation Act to justify filing out of time.
