Hon Bilyaminu Musa Sokodabo (Tafidan Abaji) Hon Mohammed Haruna Pai, Hon Mohammed Kasim Ikwa, Hon Julius Adamu, Hon Danlami Zakwoyi and Hon Dantani Zadna have all emerged winners of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship primaries for the February 21, 2026 election for Abaji, Gwagwalada, Kwali, Kuje, AMAC and Bwari area councils of the FCT.

Our correspondent report that, the PDP chairmanship primaries, which held on Monday, across the six area councils of the territory with 30 delegates each casting their votes.

The Plateau state PDP chairman, who is the chairman of the electoral committee of the chairmanship primaries, Hon Chris Hassan, who announced the results at the party’s state secretariat in Abuja, on Monday, evening, said Hon Dantani Zadna scored to defeat Williams Gace who got 12 votes, while Alhaji Bilyaminu Musa Sokodabo, also emerged as the party’s candidate for Abaji area council, after he emerged unopposed.

He also said that Alhaji Mohammed Haruna Pai emerged as the party’s chairmanship candidate for Kwali area council, after scoring 13 votes to defeat two other aspirants, Ibrahim Daniel and Shazin Zakka Madaki, who got 11 and 6 votes respectively.

He said Julius Adamu emerged winner of the chairmanship primaries for Bwari area council, after polling 19 votes to defeat five other aspirants.

According to him, Mohammed Kasim Ikwa emerged winner of the party’s chairmanship primaries for Gwagwalada area council, saying Ikwa scored 19 votes to defeat his opponent, Alhaji Adamu Saba, who got 11 votes.

He said two aspirants contested for the party’s chairmanship primaries, in which he said Danlami Zakwoyi, emerge as Kuje council chairmanship candidate unopposed after Jigo Micheal withdrew from the race.

“And after receiving results of the chairmanship primaries across the six area councils. I, Hon Hassan Chris who is the electoral committee chairman of the election, hereby declared the six area councils the contestants as winners of the party’s chairmanship primaries. And they are hereby, returned elected,”he said.

The electoral committee chairman, who described the primaries as free, fair, credible and rancour free across the six area councils, expressing confidence that PDP will emerged victorious during the February 21, 2026 elections across the six area councils of the FCT.

Meanwhile, the FCT PDP chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Ismaila Yenche, has congratulated the chairmanship candidates for their victory, even he stressed on the need to embrace and work with their opponents that contested with the in order to ensure victory at the polls.

He also commended the party’s delegates for conducting themselves peacefully, while he also appreciated the security operatives that ensured the exercise also ended peacefully without any rancour.
