Ahead of Nasarawa State’s November 2nd local government elections, the Toto Local Government APC Campaign Council launched its campaign in Umaisha, Toto, and Gadabuke districts, following party guidelines.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Chairman of the campaign council for Toto LG led fellow members on a visit to Umaisha Development Area, where voters from five electoral wards gathered to witness a landmark political event in the area.
Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, former Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and three-term representative, informed the massive crowd that Governor Abdullahi Sule’s unparalleled achievements have positioned the party for continued electoral success at the grassroots, owing to his impressive record in the area.
The Toto LG political leader and current Chairman of the governing council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, expressed gratitude for the support the party has received since its inception, which has been the key to the governing APC’s success in Toto LG
He affirmed that the choice of Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya as the party’s standard-bearer is a divine decision, and he appealed to the people of Toto LG to provide their backing to him and his new team.
Balarabe stressed that the APC in Toto must secure a win, as defeat is unacceptable. With all essential resources available, we must mobilize in large numbers on Saturday, November 2nd to elect Ahmed Baba Yahaya and the 12 electoral ward Councilors.
Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Co-Chairman of the campaign council, noted with appreciation the manner in which Toto LG leaders set aside their differences to pursue a collective goal.
He declared that stakeholders have reached a consensus to unite for Toto LG’s progress and urged the public to show overwhelming support for Pharmacist/Atnudu in the election on Saturday, November 2nd.
Addressing the gathering, party Chairman Alhaji Ahmed Shaibu Katuka and key officials, including Alhaji Adams Usman Shaba, Director General of the APC campaign council, and Hajiya Kumajo, Woman leader for Umaisha development area, expressed optimism that the new team will effectively represent the entire Toto LG
They expressed gratitude to the party leaders and supporters for their unwavering backing, emphasizing that everyone will be integrated into the decision-making process.
They contend that APC’s dominance in Toto LG will persist due to Governor Abduallahi Sule’s outstanding leadership.
Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, flagbearer of the party, assured that his administration will consolidate the gains of previous leaders and uphold the party’s strategic plan, focusing on governance, security, infrastructure, and socioeconomic development, while seeking the support of Toto LG residents.
During their visit, the delegation extended royal courtesies to Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman at his Umaisha development area palace, seeking his gracious blessings.
Alhaji Balarabe formally notified Ohimegye in council that their delegation had arrived to launch their chairmanship campaign ahead of Saturday’s election, and sought his venerable paternal approval.
The chairman of the campaign council commended HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi’s fatherly approach and gave his assurance that the incoming chairman would live up to the expectations of Toto LG’s population.
The culmination of the event featured the presentation of APC flags to Umaisha district’s five ward councillorship candidates, marking their official leadership recognition.
The campaign was attended by distinguished guests, including former House of Assembly members, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, Hon Madaki Adah Goje as well as former executive chairmen, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, Hon. Musa Mohammed Ohinoyi (alias General), and Hon. Zakari O. Sani
Others included former councilors, council appointees, and party supporters, among others.
At Gadabuke district
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Chairman of the campaign council, alongside Co-chairman Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Director General Alhaji Adams Usman, and other council members, engaged with the people of Gadabuke district to garner support for the forthcoming weekend election.
The former speaker defended his advocacy for zoning the Chairmanship position, indicating no regrets over launching people-driven initiatives, while also highlighting Gadabuke district’s willingness to support Toto.
He commended the former Executive Chairman, Hon Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, for his diligent service and expressed optimism that Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and his team will consolidate the achievements of the preceding administrations.
According to Balarabe, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya has demonstrated exceptional competence and reliability during his tenure as Commissioner for Health.
He advised the incoming legislature to focus on their statutory responsibilities and refrain from diverting the executive’s attention with unnecessary interruptions.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Gadabuke district for their support and loyalty, and reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to their well-being.
During their visit, the delegation paid homage to His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Suleiman II (Gomo Babye), Gadabuke town’s traditional ruler. The former Speaker informed the king of their mission to launch the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign in his domain and requested his blessings, as is customary after similar engagements in Umaisha.
Alhaji Balarabe proceeded to introduce the members of the campaign council, notably Co-Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Director General Alhaji Adams Usman, who serves as Secretary, and additional members.
He proceeded to introduce Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the incoming Chairman, and Atnadu Yakubu, his Vice, to the Gomo Babye and Council of Chiefs.
In response, HRH Alhaji Aminu Suleiman (Gomo Babye 11) commended the campaign council team and expressed gratitude to the initiator of the zoning arrangement for the Chairmanship position among Toto LG’s three districts.
He emphasizes the importance of inclusive governance, encompassing youths, women, and elderly persons.
The Gadabuke ruler charged the incoming Chairman and his team to maintain impartiality towards all districts.
He prayed for divine guidance to enable the Chairman to lead with fairness and justice.

At Toto district, an APC delegation pays a courtesy visit to Ohinoyi Ogye (Toto) to seek Royal Blessings.

According to Alhaji Balarabe, his son, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has been chosen by God to lead the people of Toto LG as the new Chairman.
He pointed out that the campaign council is made up of individuals with a proven track record of integrity, mirroring the stakeholders’ dedication to advancing development in Toto LG.
Responding, Ohinoyi Ogye, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Umar Azaki, expressed gratitude to the former Speaker for leading Toto LG’s political structure, noting that the evident unity of purpose indicates a promising outcome beneficial to all.
The monarch pledged support and cautioned the incoming Chairman to beware of unscrupulous advisors who may mislead him by deviating from established procedures.
The campaign council then proceeded to Central Pilot Science School Toto, the designated rally ground, where constituents and supporters gathered in large number to observe the party’s events.
Addressing party supporters, Rt. Hon Balarabe announced that the time has come to proceed with elections, reprising their efforts from three years ago.
According to him, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and Atnadu Yakubu were the divinely chosen candidates, and he praised the people of Toto LG for their demonstration of affection.
Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the party’s flagbearer pledged inclusive governance and equitable distribution of benefits throughout Toto LG if elected.
