DIVINE AGENDA GROUP: TRIALING THE BLAZE IN SPORTING FOR HUMAN EMPOWERMENT

There’s no gainsaying the fact that the Divine Agenda, the foundation of Divine Agenda, non governmental and humanitarian organization is shrouded on human empowerment and community development.
Founded and spread- headed by renowned Abia state-born philanthropist, Chief Dr Nyerere Chinenye Anyim aimed at empowering young talents and elderlies, giving succor to less-privileged citizens in the society, and as well engaging in community development.
The Divine Agenda Group had carried out several human welfare and societal enhancement programs, and has sustained the tempo despite her lean resources as it remained unrelenting and committed in her several initiatives, especially in the area of education, health, agriculture, sporting, community development etc.
As one of its many annual programs to empower young talents, and also unite communities across Obingwa local government area of Abia state through sporting, the organization organized the 20th edition of “Divine Agenda Unity Football Cup Competition 2024, which took place Amano School field, Amano Mbaugwu in Obingwa local government area of Abia state.
The grand finale of the football match competition ended 2-0, with Umuanunu FC emerging victorious over Azuogwogu FC.
Hinting on the significance of the Divine Agenda football cup competition, the coordinator of the tournament, Mr Chiemela Nwosu said the organization provided platform for young talents across Obingwa to showcase their skills and gain recognition, reinforcing our commitment to youth development.
“The tournament emphasized the focus on grassroots engagement, ensuring every community has a chance to participate in the unity Cup sports initiatives.
“Through the 20th Edition Divine Agenda Unity Cup sports committee, were successfully mobilized resources, teams, and stakeholders to ensure the competition was a success.
The tournament brought communities together, fostering camaraderie and a sense of shared purpose across the state.
Speaking during the grand finale of the 20th edition of Divine Agenda Unity Football Cup Competition 2024, the sponsor, Dr Nyerere Anyim expressed joy on the monumental gains recorded with the football tournaments.
“According to him, “I am proud of what we have achieved with the Divine Agenda Unity Cup Football Competition. This is not just a football tournament, it is a movement toward a more inclusive and prosperous future for Obingwa and Abia State at large.
While saluting Umuanunu Team on their recent victory during the concluded 20th edition of Divine Agenda Unity Football Cup Competition 2024, Dr Anyim appreciated all participating team, especially, Agburuike Women Team that won the championship of the women tournament; supporters, and Stakeholders who contributed to the success of the exercise.
“Together, we are creating a vibrant and thriving sport culture in Obingwa and Abia state at large”,the philanthropist added.
