Former Lokoja LG Vice Chairman Bababudan condoles with Ibaji people over boat mishap
Hon Danladi Bababudan, former Assembly member who represented Lokoja 2 State constituency and Vice Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area in Kogi State, has expressed condolences to the people of Ibaji Local Government Area following a boat mishap that resulted in over twenty-six deaths.
In response to the tragedy, Bababudan urged sober reflection and immediate action to prevent similar incidents.
He emphasized that the use of life jackets could significantly reduce casualties and called on stakeholders, including the National Inland Waterways Authority, to enhance surveillance and implement preventive measures on waterways.
He condole with the immediate families of the victims and prayed Allah forgive the sins of the casualties.
The former lawmaker emphasized genuine reasons to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence and called on the government to focus on the agriculture and mining sectors.
He urged for improvements in security, specifically advocating for adequate funding of community policing to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police in crime prevention.
