Insecurity is a serious problem posing threat to livelihoods and depriving this great nation, the maximum development it’s required as planned by the founding fathers. The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has continued to reach out to the victims of insecurity and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Toto local government area local government area Nasarawa State State.
While presenting the relief items on behalf of the former Speaker, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi today at Umaisha development areas, Alhaji Usman Muhammed (Understand), the former political adviser said the gesture is to cushion the challenges the victims go through following the invasion of their communities by Bassa Kwomu gunmen.
According to him, Life has not been the same for these victims of Bassa Kwomu gunmen invasion in Katakpa, Shege and other communities in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State.
He said the former speaker is in pained over the unfortunate incident that which claimed several lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
“To some the attacks they suffered will be a lifelong experience that won’t fade away anytime soon.”
Most of them here say that life has been unbearable as they are now refugees in their fatherland after their communities were attacked and their belongings lost.
But despite the series of attacks, these victims believe there is still more to live for.
Our correspondent investigation revealed that several communities in Toto LGA were attacked by Bassa Kwomu militias leading to several lost of lives and destruction of properties leaving several people displaced.
Some of the relief items donated by the former Speaker Balarabe, include 100 bundles of zinc, other essential materials and as well bags of 50 kg of rice, semolina, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of oils, Maggi among other food items.
Alhaji Muhammed Understand further explained that the former Speaker also distributed Rams, Cows, over 100 bags of rice and other items worth millions of naira to the people of his constituency to enable them celebrate Sallah at ease.
According to Muhammed Usman, the relief materials are meant to support the victims of the recent communal crisis in the area to start a new life and settled down by rebuilding their homes especially now that the farming session has sets in.

He also noted that the Former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi has presented the sallah packages as his usual tradition to enable his people celebrate the upcoming sallah festival with joy considering the present economic reality in the country.
He enjoined the people to remain peaceful and united irrespective of their affiliations and continued to pray and support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
Speakers at the presentation of the materials, Village Head of Shege Alh. Usman Idoko, Hon. Muhammed Sani Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule, Hon. Iliyasu Miryam the Overseer of Umaisha Development Area, APC Chairman of Toto LG and the Woman Leader among others lauded the Former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi for having his people at heart and addressing their plights even after living office praying God to reward him abundantly.
