Former Speaker Balarabe, Ohimegye Opanda showers encomium on Gov Sule, Nigerian Army for neutralizing Bassa Kwomu’s bandits in Toto LG

A renowned politician and Immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe alongside paramount ruler of Egbira People in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, have commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his support for the people of the area towards provision of adequate security.
The former Speaker and Ohimegye Opanda disclosed on Wednesday after attending Eid-el – Fitr prayer with thousands of people in attendance in Umaisha, the administrative headquarters of the area.
Rt. Hon. Balarabe arrived in Umaisha on Tuesday, daring the security threat posed by the Bassa Kwomu’s militias and their hired collaborators.
Global Times Nigeria reports that the two unit prayer held at Umaisha Central Eid Ground led by the Chief Imam of the area and doubles as the Khadi Shariah Court of Appeal Lafia, Hon Justice Mohammed Yahaya Usman.
The Chief Imam prayed for peace, unity and progress of the Country, the State and the Area in particular in the face of the recent attacks, where many lives lost including three soldiers, village head and many others as well as distruction of properties worth millions of naira.
As it is a tradition among the people, they accompanied the royal father from eid ground to the palace where they all gathered to paid homage and the traditional ruler HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi in his speech appreciated the pragmatic effort of Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Nigeria Army for curtailing unabated Killings in the area.
He spoke extensively on the tireless efforts of Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Nigeria Army in bringing the situation to its barest minimum just as he acknowledged the relentless efforts of the local vigilantes also urging them not to relent.
Ohimegye Opanda tasked his people on peace and unity considering its impact in the society as well as the need to be security conscious and embrace farming, fishing and trading that they are known for.
On his part, the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Alh Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi specifically went down memory lane on the longtime efforts of leaders to ensure sustain peace and unity in the area stressing that some people are head bent to ensure that the area did not enjoy peace.
He emphasized the need to keep politics out of the situation especially that it involves lives of the people so that the needful should be done.
While appreciating the effort of the State Governor and the Army Balarabe Abdullahi condoled with army authorities and the family of the three soldiers who lost their lives and other civilians appealing to government to support the families of the slain soldiers.
Balarabe Abdullahi enumerated and acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the area calling on his people to support government at all levels to succeed for more democratic dividends.
The Overseer Umaisha Development Area Iliyasu Miryam appreciated the royal father’s leadership style and the former Speaker for coming down home to celebrate with his people just as he called on the people to embrace agriculture.
It was gathered that the EID celebration in Umaisha was peaceful and successful as people came out in their numbers to participate at the two units congregational prayers amidst high presence security operatives.
