Governor Sule Launches School Renovation Project in Kokona LGA

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has launched the comprehensive renovation of L.G.E.A Primary School Ego and Agaza in Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State.
The project is being implemented by Black Gem New Energy Company Ltd, a mining company with operations in the area, as part of its community development initiatives.
The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects involve the renovation, fencing, and construction of classroom blocks at primary and secondary schools in Ego and Agaza communities.
Gov. Sule expressed that upon completion, the schools’ construction would have a positive impact on the standard of education in the area.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D.W. Mamman, commended the mining company for its commendable initiative.
Sule urged the benefitting communities to utilize the schools as a resource to send their wards to acquire western education.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s continued commitment to adopting diverse policies and programmes that would directly influence the education sector.
Hon. Ogazi also thanked the Governor for allowing mining license to Black Gem New Energy Co. Ltd to mine in their communities.
He further charged the youths of the community to provide conducive atmosphere to the company to thrive in it’s operation.
“This is Black Gem New Energy Company Ltd Corporate Social Responsibility, this is made possible even as the Executive Chairman of the company Mr Chin approved the request of the community before the commencement of their exploration in this area” He said.
Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, Member Representing Kokona East Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, lauded Gov. Sule for enticing investors to the state through mining activities.
The Traditional Ruler of Agwada observed that the company’s presence in the area is a favorable indication for the people, given that their involvement has commenced generating constructive results, such as the renovation, construction, and fencing of schools, which will augment government endeavors in the State’s education sector.
He appealed to the local population to maintain peaceful coexistence, which is essential for achieving peace and promoting development.
On his part, the Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Andy Zhong, expressed his gratitude to the Governor and the community for providing a conducive environment for their operations, assuring that the company will discharge its duties effectively and fulfill all its community development agreements and corporate social responsibility.
He pointed out that the remodeling of the schools was part of the company’s social responsibility to the community.
The Managing Director stated that the community can anticipate additional improvements, including the provision of portable water, electricity, rural roads, and other essential amenities.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Hon. Agbawu M. Agbawu, acknowledged Black Stone New Energy Co Ltd’s laudable development efforts in the area.
He also called upon the community to cultivate unity and live in harmony, emphasizing that peace is vital for achieving meaningful development in the society.
Reports indicated that the event was attended by a diverse range of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, Principal Officers in the State Primary Education Board, Hon. Awalu Adamu, the former Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Security Agencies, and other esteemed guests.
