Since her assumption of duty as the new Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi has devised various political and administrative programs to ensure women and children are given the desired attention in the Nigeria society.

Since children are the leaders of tomorrow, adequate care , attention and desired succour are needed to ensure their survival.

Therefore, as soon as she assumed duty, the issue of detained minors who were on trial as a result of their involvement in EndBadGovernance was prioritised and ensured government waiver for their immediate release.

To give women and girls a worthy life , the recent program launched by the Minister through unveiling was aimed at given women and girls a rightful place in the society.

The launch of the 100 Billion emergency fund as strategic action plan by the Minister outside the budgetary allocation was novel and commendable, in view of the previous neglects suffered by women and children in the Nigeria context.

The development through engagement of development partners , the private sector both local and international, which included relevant stakeholders, Ministries, Departments and Agencies was a giant leap towards given the vulnerable women , children a meaningful living.

This will be in line with the National action plan for the development and emancipation of our women and children who are already exposed to all forms of innuendos across the country.

Coming at a time when over 10.5M children are out of school according to statistics from ( UNICEF 2024), with 60% of these population constituted by girls , concerted efforts should be redoubled as it is been done by the Minister to mitigate the current trend.

With 4 out of 10 girls married out in less than 18 years, efforts must be redoubled by both government and stakeholders to ensure not only the reversal of the ugly trend , but creating an engagement and concerted efforts as been proposed by the Ministry.

With the new road map , no doubt the strategic action plan been convened by the new leadership of the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi will give a lease of life to women and children in the country.
