Islamic Cleric tasks couples on marriage ethics as Hon. Dogara gives daughter in marriage

The Chief Imam of Wamba Central Mosque, Mallam Muhammad Surajo, emphasized the importance for married couples to strictly adhere to the ethics of the marriage institution. He said by doing so, couples can strengthen their marriage, receive its blessings, and attract God’s favor into their homes.
This advice was given during the wedding fatiha ceremony of Hauwa’u, daughter of Hon. Aliyu Dogara—former member representing Wamba constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly—and her husband, Abdulmalik.
The wedding fatiha took place on Saturday at the palace of Oriye Rindre HRH Retired Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo.
The Islamic scholar Mal. Muhammad Surajo who announced the payment of N250, 000 as dowry and fulfillment of all other marriage rites, pronounced Princess Hauwa’u Aliyu Dogara and Abdulmalik Adamu as husband and wife.
The Chief Imam of Wamba Central Mosque called on married couples to always abide by the guiding principles of marriage to gain the blessings associated with the institution.
The wedding ceremony was notably well attended, with the palace filled to full capacity. It brought together a diverse group of personalities, including government officials and politicians. Among the distinguished guests were:

The Former Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, along with HRH Retired Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo, the first-class traditional ruler of the Rindre people, both emphasized the importance of marriage as a means to enhance peace and unity among diverse ethnic groups.
They described marriage as a religious obligation that should be taken seriously and urged that it be used to foster harmony and understanding across different communities.
Specifically, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has been vocal about encouraging inter-ethnic marriages as instruments to further national unity and peace.
He highlighted that marriage not only serves as a natural institution but also one prescribed in religion, particularly Islam, with adherence to its rules critical for success.
He cautioned couples to resist external negative interference and to embrace virtues such as love, patience, understanding, tolerance, forgiveness, respect, obedience, and effective communication for lasting marriages.
According to Balarabe, “These principles are foundational to building peace and unity among ethnic groups through the marriage institution.”
The Director General Nasarawa State Pension Board Suleiman Musa Nagogo on behalf of the Wamba traditional institution appreciated all those who grace the occasion and wished them journey mercies to their various destinations just as prayers were also offered for the State and the Country at large.
