Kogi Assembly Speaker joins Gov Bello, prominent Nigerians to commission Ajiyolo Central Mosque

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, joined the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Friday to commission the ultramodern Central Mosque in Ajiyolo Ajikpome in Dekina Local Government Area.
This is contained in a press statement signed and made available to journalists by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed.
The speaker, who later joined other Muslim faithful to observe his Jummuah prayer, said in his address that the project was a demonstration of the intention of Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala to contribute to the growth of Islam.
Rt Honourable Umar, who quoted from both the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith about the rewards Allah has promised builders of Mosques said it formed one of the noblest actions by a Muslim.
In fact, the speaker reminded Muslims that Allah has promised to build a house in paradise for whoever builds a mosque on earth for His sale as it is one of the best acts of charity.
He further used the occasion to stress that the mosque would go a long way in assisting in the propagation of the message of Islam and unite Muslims, and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant all the blessings inherent in the construction of such projects to Alhaji Okala.
The speaker also applauded the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving the Accountant General of the state the opportunity to serve the state, noting that it has afforded him the opportunity to demonstrate his passion for humanity in general, and Islam in particular.
Governor Bello was represented at the occasion by the Governor – Elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who performed the commissioning on behalf of the Governor while the Assembly Speaker chaired the event.
