Kogi councils poll: Commissioner Bashir Gegu endorses Musa Abdulmalik as Kogi LGC Chairman
….Says he’s a product of zoning arrangement

Preparatory to October 19 local government election in Kogi State, the Zone C stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi local government have finally settled for the serving Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon Musa Abdulmalik.
The endorsement came after an expanded APC stakeholders meeting held at Millennium Hotel, Gegu Beki, Zone C area of Kogi LGA, wherein stakeholders from across the 11 wards unanimously zone the chairmanship to the Zone C to produced the next council Chairman.
In a lead of endorsement, Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Abubakar Mohammed Bashir Gegu, said the Zone stakeholders have collectively agreed and endorsed the incumbent Caretaker Chairman of Kogi local council, Hon Musa Abdulmalik.
According to report in the Global Times Nigeria revealed the council Chairman of Kogi LGA, Hon Musa Abdulmalik is an origin of Chikara North in Zone C area of Kogi LGA
According to Commissioner, the caretaker committee chairman has all it’s takes and serve diligently and had spread dividends of democracy across the 11 electoral wards in the area.
He said on security, he performed excellently, this is one of the reasons my people are championing his cause to continue with his good work.
“I endorsed Abdulmalik MUSA as he aspires for Kogi LGA chairman”. Commissioner Gegu added.
The caretaker committee chairman was endorsed on Monday in Gegu Beki, the ancestral home of the Commissioner before departing for Abuja for an investment meeting at early hours.
Following the endorsement of Musa Abdulmalik, the APC group in Zone C commended the Commissioner and stakeholders for making it easier for APC to win in the slated council poll.
The group vowed to rally round to ensure the potential APC candidate is delivered in the upcoming election.
Our correspondent gathered that Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC), had fixed October 19 for the Kogi State local government election.
In a similar development, the supreme court had also ruled in favoured of local government autonomy and stating that a state without elected council official should not be allowed to use federal allocation.
