Kogi East asks Central District to swap Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan for Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho for remaining two years
I. D Ijele, also known as Isaiah Davies Ijele, is a prominent opposition figure and the Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the November 2023 gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
He has been outspoken about political issues in the state, criticizing the government and the ruling party for favoritism, lack of fair representation, and poor governance.
In particular, Ijele has accused the Kogi State government and officials of neglecting parts of the state, especially outside the Okene area, and has called for equitable wealth distribution and fair representation for all regions.
Recently, Ijele has berated the the incumbent Senator representing Kogi East District, Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho for what he allegedly said misrepresentation
Ijele’s criticisms is an opposition stance questioning the effectiveness of certain incumbents and ruling party members in delivering expected dividends of democracy to their constituents.
Ijele called out Senator Echocho, tagging him underperforming Senator and fail to address serious issues like insecurity and development in the Eastern flank of Kogi State as part of his advocacy for the people’s interests.
He urged the people of the Central district to support Senator Hadiza Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan as their representative, adding that she remains the best in history of Kogi State unlike Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho representing them with nothing tangible to show for.
Ijele criticised Echocho for inadequate political capacity and insufficient representation of the area.
His words:
Take Echocho for the remaining Two Years and Give us Natasha H Akpoti for 6 months. Pls the central people must stop this selfishness against us. No no no, this is unacceptable. Pls by the power bestowed on me I declare it as a “Senate transfer Window’s”
Since he is too big to share common 37 solar panels by himself to a small town then he is unfit to be my senator.
