A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, and Councilorship candidate representing Mozum ward in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hajiya Mariam Talatu Abubakar, who just secured a party’s ticket expressed her gratitude to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the opportunity to serve in a particular capacity.
Talatu Abubakar, also thanked Kogi State Governor for Implementing 40% affirmative action for women in leadership, adding that Governor Ododo should be commended for Setting quotas or targets for women’s representation in Kogi State.
The hopeful APC councilorship candidate said Gov Ododo leadership has provided leadership opportunities for women, people with disability and youths amongst others.
She equally extend her greeting to APC stakeholders in Mozum ward and entire Bassa Local Government Area for supporting her cause and promised never to let’s them down.
According to her, if elected she will be monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed by her people.
” I will lobby for appointment to a government position for my people,
assignment to a special task force or committee, Involvement in a key project or initiative that will bring more development to my host community.”
Hajiya Mariam Talatu Abubakar pledged to support leadership role in a party or government organization as well Support for a personal or party-related endeavor.
While assuring women of Bassa LG particularly the Mozum ward, Hajiya Talatu promised to address gender imbalance in leadership in an effort to sustain Gov Ododo’s legacy at the grassroot level.
“I promote gender equality and diversity, Increase women’s representation and voice in decision-making and break down barriers and challenges faced by women in leadership.’
“My representation will include fostering inclusive and equitable distribution of resources inline with Gov Ododo’s administration.” She added.
