Kudos to Women affairs Minister as Onitsha based lawyer, Adachukwu Okafor arrested for alleged child abuse
Days after the Minister of Women Affairs, Barr Uju Kennedy Ohanenye placed a 2 million naira bounty on an Onitsha-based lawyer, Mrs. Adachukwu Okafor for child abuse, the Police in Onitsha have arrested her.
The lady’s action which went viral across various social media platforms was alleged to have inflicted bodily harm on her 10 year old house maid, Happiness Nwafor by designing her legs and body with hot iron and a kitchen knife.
The lady has been on the run for weeks after being reported to have inflicted severe injuries on the minor which prompted the Minister to place a reward of 2 million naira for any member of the public who can come forward with information on her whereabouts, during a press conference in Abuja.
According to a press release issued by Ohaeri Osondu Joseph, Fnipr, Fcai, Special Assistant, Media, said With this development, the Minister has said that her Ministry is working in tandem with the Nigeria Police to commence immediate investigation on the matter while the girl is still undergoing medical treatment in the hospital.
