Ahead of Local Government Elections in Nasarawa State, the member Representing Nasarawa Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim is strongly advocating for women inclusion in governance and equal rights as part of effort to ensure gender balancing in the state
The female lawmaker make a case for women to be consider for the positions of Deputy Chairmen of the 13 LGAs of the State.
Hon. Danyaro (APC) and Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs was speaking at the conference room of the State House of Assembly when the Nasarawa State Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Leaving and Empowerment AGILE Project Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga visited the lawmakers to brief them on the activities of the project in the State.
Hon. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, the Only Female Lawmaker in the State said for equity and fairness she is calling on politicians, stakeholders and the people of the State to consider and nominate women to occupy the positions of Deputy Chairmen in the 13 LGAs during the forthcoming Local Council Elections.
“When we support women to climb the leader, hold positions, believe me you see results, you see performance, you will see commitment of a mother, you see dedication of a wife and you get the job done absolutely ”
” We pray and solicited for support to see a woman as a LG Chairman, I want to appeal that we make women as running mates as Deputy Chairmen in all the 13 LGAs of the State during the forthcoming elections”
“We want a situation where we should see women as Councilors in various LGAs of the State after the election” Hon. Danyaro added.
