Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure a decisive victory in the November 2, 2024 local government elections in the State.
According to the Speaker, the accomplishments of Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the ruling APC in the State are responsible for expected victory
The Speaker made this statement during the APC Stakeholders’ meeting for Nasarawa Western Zone, held today in Keffi LGA.
In a press briefing after a closed-door meeting, Speaker Jatau announced that all APC aspirants in the zone who did not get the party’s ticket have agreed to support the consensus candidates.
He noted that the meeting’s objective was to discuss and prepare for Governor Sule’s campaign initiation and APC candidates’ presentation for the zone, taking place in Keffi this coming Wednesday.
” You will recalled that APC has organized its primaries where Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates have emerged.
” His Excellency, Engr A A Sule will be in Keffi on Wednesday this week for official flag off of campaign in the zone.
” We are here to prepare for his Excellency’s visit to the zone and we are set to receive His Excellency” the Speaker said.
The Speaker confirmed that all unsuccessful primary aspirants have agreed to set aside their differences and work together to ensure the party’s victory.
” We have discussed and all the aspirants have agreed and accepted to work together for the victory of all of our candidates in the upcoming local government election” He said.
The Speaker urged state residents to maintain their support for Governor Abdullahi Sule’s success.
Further speaking, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, former Executive Director/CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), called on the state’s residents to come out en masse and vote for all APC candidates in the November 2 local government election.
” We are here to prepare for the forthcoming local government election in the state.
” We have a fruitful discussion and by God’s grace victory will be ours in the Nov. 2nd Local Government election in the state” he said.
Dr Faisal commended Gov Sule on the transparent consensus that led to the selection of APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
Earlier, Mr. Isaiah Aga, APC Zonal Chairman for Keffi Western Zone, expressed gratitude to the Speaker and other key stakeholders for their presence at the meeting.
He pledged their ability to coordinate efforts for the party’s electoral victory and sustained growth thereafter.
Reports indicate that the meeting drew attendance from prominent individuals, including Dr. Faisal Shuaib, former National Primary Health Care Development Agency CEO, Hon. Aliyu Tijani, CEO of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Arch. Shehu Tukur, Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, former Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, Hon. Muhammed Garba Isimbabi, Member of the State Assembly for Toto/Gadabuke, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana, Member for Keffi West, former lawmakers, and Barr. Labaran Magaji, State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as additional stakeholders.
