Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has screened and confirmed the appointment of Umar A Mohammed as Director General, Nasarawa State Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP)
Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House announced this after the nominee appeared for screening before the House today in Lafia.
Speaker Jatau while congratulating the nominee, urged him to ensure transparency and accountability in the discharge of his duties.
The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the resolution of the House to Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his necessary action
” I hereby directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the House resolution to His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his further necessary action” he said.
Earlier, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara, the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the confirmation of the nominee.
Hon Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion.
The House unanimously confirmed the appointment of Umar A Mohammed as DG, BPP after the member representing Keana constituency the LG of the nominee Hon. Muhammed Adamu Omadefu spoke extensively on his pedigree, capability and long term experience in procurement urging his colleagues to give him express clearance.
It would be reported that members who spoke Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad and Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala described Umar A Mohammed as a tested procurement expert.
