Nasarawa Assembly inspects N16bn Lafia flyover, expresses satisfaction, hails Gov Sule’s commitment
Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at the ongoing construction of over N16 billion naira flyover and under pass in Lafia, the State capital, initiated by Nasarawa State Government.
Chairman, House Committee on Nasarawa Urban Development Board and Member representing Uke/Karshi constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Saidu Gude (SDP) gave the commendation when he led other members of the Committee on an assessment visit to the project site in Lafia, Monday.
The Uke/Karshi lawmaker said the project when completed will not only reduce traffic, accident but rather enhance economic activities as well as beautify the capital city as seen in other big cities in the country.
Gude observed that the high tension electricity poles are very close to the flyover which potent danger to the labourer working on the site and advised that the poles should be shifted away from the road for safety.
The lawmaker equally asked the contractor to ensure regular watering of the road to control dust in the interest of the health of the people.
He called on the Government to hasten the process of payment of compensation to the people whose houses and shops were affected just as he commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for constructing the legacy project which will stand the test of time.
He urged the contractors to sustain the good work they are doing ensure strict adherence to contract specifications.
Earlier, the Area Manager, Triacta Nigeria Limited handling the construction of the flyover and under pass, Engr. Fersan Daou appreciated the committee for the visit, usual support and cooperation calling for its sustenance.
He solicited for more funding in order to deliver the project within the agreed time frame of eighteen months.
The project manager assured of quality job and according to specifications.
He disclosed that the total sum for the project is Sixteen Point Six Hundred and Seventy Seven Billion Naira.
In a related development, the committee also visited the ongoing construction of 1.4 KM road behind Ta,’al Hotel, Lafia and commended the contractor for doing a good job.
Gude promised to give the contractor all the necessary support to succeed.
Earlier, the Project Manager of the work Triacta Nigeria Limited, Ibrahim Vizar appreciated the committee for assessing the road.
He said the duration for the completion of the project is six months and assured the committee of the company’s commitment to deliver the job within the stipulated time.
