Nasarawa Assembly to hold public hearing on climate change bill

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Environment announces the completion of arrangements for a public hearing on the Nasarawa State Policy on Climate Change Bill and Other Connected Purposes 2024.

The public hearing according to the House is to get inputs from relevant government and non governmental organisation’s as well as stakeholders to enrich the bill for its consideration and benefit of the State.

A statement by Chairman House Committee on Environment Hon. Muhammed Adamu Omadefu said the public hearing is bild for Thursday 10th of this month at the Assembly complex by 10 O’clock in the morning.

The statement calls for submission of 14 copies of memorandum to the committee before appearing for oral defence on the said date.

The statement added that the committee is expecting submissions from both the State and the Federal Ministries of Environment, State Ministry of Agriculture, ACReSAL, NEWMAP/EIB and NASWAMSA.

Others are GIFSEP, OXFAM, Ecosphere Blue Green Solutions and other relevant and interested NGOs, groups and individuals just as it gave names of some personalities invited to make inputs to include Dr. Murtala Adogi and Hon. ABDUL-HAMID KWARA respectively.
