Nasarawa Assembly vows to make budgetary provisions for establishment of General Hospital Lafia next year to complement Teaching Hospital

…..YAN leadership joins Lafia Staff Unity Forum under Speaker’s auspices

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has stated that the House will ensure the inclusion of provisions for the establishment of a General Hospital in Lafia in the 2025 budget.

The Speaker explained that this decision is intended to mitigate the strain on the freshly approved Federal University Teaching Hospital in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital

The Speaker made the assurance while hosting the Lafia Staff Unity Forum from Federal University Lafia in his office on Tuesday.

Speaker Jatau lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the upgrade of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital to a Federal University Teaching Hospital in Lafia.

” I want to commend you for the visit and for appreciating what we are doing in the House.

” I want to assure you that we will try to make provision for rhe establishment of General Hospital Lafia in the 2025 budget.

” We will support and ensure that your requests is given attention by the state government” He said.

The Speaker commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his passion in the education and health among other sectors of the economy.

” His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has Zeal and passion for development.

” We want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov Abdullahi Sule, the Senator that sponsored the bill for the establishment of the teaching Hospital, Lafia and other stakeholders for the realization of the Teaching Hospital in the state” He added.

The Speaker assured of good working relationship with the executive arm for the overall development of the state.

” There is a very good relationship between us and the executive to see that development thrive in the state” the Speaker said.

Earlier, Prof.Mohammed Tanko Aliyu Baitulah and Dean Faculty of Arts Federal University Lafia, the leader of the delegation said that the visit was to appreciate the 7th assembly good work in the state.

” We are happy that DASH is converted to Teaching Hospital in Lafia.

” We want to appeal for the establishment of General Hospital in Lafia, accommodation for the College of Medicine among others” he said.

He assured the Speaker of their prayers and support enable him succeed.

In another development, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has hosted the leadership of Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) Nasarawa State Chapter where he urged them to be good ambassadors of the state.

He also called on them to continue to inculcate good moral values on the youths in the state.

The Speaker further urged them to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.

Earlier, Comrade Habiba Umar Iliyasu, the Speaker of YAN, Nasarawa State Chapter said that the visit was to familiarize themselves and to appreciate the Speaker for his good leadership and tireless efforts in the state.

She assured of their continuous support to Gov. Sule and Speaker Jatau among other leaders to succeed .

She, however appealed for the support of the Speaker in the areas of office accommodation, training of its members among others.
