Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has openly supported the Toto Local Government contingent in the Nasarawa Governor Cup currently taking place in Lafia, the state capital.

Rt. Hon Balarabe, now chairing the governing council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, emphasized the importance of supporting Team Toto and young players, given Toto’s significant political influence in the State.

Rt. Hon. Balarabe, previously representing Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency, was represented by Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, the immediate past legislator for Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and presently serving as Executive Secretary, Nasarawa Teachers Service, who visited the Toto LG contingent accompanied by Hon. Salihu Gimba, Special Adviser to the NSHA Speaker, to convey the APC leader’s message and show support at Meseda Hotel Lafia, the venue hosting the players and officials.

“We are present to provide support as directed by our leader, the former Speaker and current Chairman of the governing council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, Rt. Hon Balarabe, who has been monitoring your progress and expressed his desire to see Toto emerge victorious in the tournament.”

The delegation was formally welcomed by the head coach and officials of Toto LG Football Association, who assured the Former Speaker that the team is well-equipped to excel and confident of emerging victorious in the tournament.

Our correspondent Yahaya Idris reports that Team Toto has received support from stakeholders and affluent individuals to enhance player performance in the ongoing Nasarawa Governor’s Cup in Lafia.

The Toto LG team’s match against Keffi ended in a 1-1 draw, and they are slated to play Doma today in Lafia at 2pm.

Currently, Toto LG has secured one point, and today’s March will determine whether the team will advance in the tournament.

In the previous game, the Toto team was presented with a red card by the referee, favoring Keffi, but the match ended in a 1-1 deadlock.
