Nasarawa Lawmaker Peter Akwe distributes 400 bags of fertilizers, herbicides, others to 500 farmers

… Urges them to shun tomorrow’s protest, go to farm, engage in their daily activities

Member representing Obi 1 constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Peter Akwe, has distributed 250 bags of Urea and 150 bags of NPK fertilizers as well as herbicides to 500 farmers of his constituency.

This, he said is to ensure bumper harvest thereby boosting food security in his constituency and the state.

The lawmaker also distributed 6 tricycles to people living with disability in order to ease their movements.

Hon. Ibrahim Peter Akwe, the Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture made the distribution in Lafia today.

He urged the beneficiaries and other people of his constituency not to join the planned protest but to go to their farms and other daily activities tomorrow, Aug.1.

“I want to appeal to you to go and apply this fertilizer and herbicides in your farm tomorrow instead of joining the protest.

” As protest will not solve the nation’s problem. History has shown that protest lead to violence, destruction of lives and properties among other negative acts, let’s all shun tomorrow protest.

” Dialogue is the way out not protest. We need peace in Obi 1 constituency, we need peace in Nasarawa State and we need peace in Nigeria,” he said.

Hon. Peter Akwe urged the beneficiaries to use the farm inputs in order to boost food production in the area.

Besides, the lawmaker urged the beneficiaries of the tricycles to use it in order to ease their movements.

” I have distributed wheel chairs last time, this is the second phase for those that could not get in the first phase of my distribution of tricycles to the disabled persons in my constituency,” he said.

Hon. Peter Akwe urged the people of his constituency to continue to pray and support government at all levels to succeed

” Let’s continue to pray and support the government to succeed

” They need our prayers and support not protest,” he said

He also assured of continuous good and sound representation at the state legislature.

Responding, Mr Emmanuel Adei and Mr Kigbu David Gabi, who spokes on behalf of other beneficiaries appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.
