(APC ) representing Awe South constituency has tasked parents and guardians to give their children and wards sound western and religious knowledge to enable them be responsible citizens and as a lasting legacy.
This, the Lawmaker said, if children are giving the best form of religious and western education, it would build an egalitarian society for all.
Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara gave the task during a graduation ceremony organized for complete Qur’anic memorization ceremony of Madarasatul Darul Qur’an Lafia held at Project Quarters, Lafia, the state capital on Sunday.
The Majority Leader of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara, who underscored the significant of both western and religious education called on parents and guardians to give their children the best education as a lasting legacy and an instrument to fight poverty and other vices in the society.
Azara commended the management and teachers of Madarasatul Darul Qur’an Lafia for inculcating in the 5 graduating students the best form of Islamic education as they successfully completed the memorisation of the holy Qur’an and expressed hope that the knowledge they gain will be translated in the larger society.
The majority leader congratulated the 5 graduating students and their parents, particularly his former boss, the immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, whom 2 of his children are among the graduating ones and wished them the very best.
On his part, Justice Aliyu Ibrahim, Khadi Shariah Court of Appeal Lafia underscored the significant of Islamic education and urged parents and guardians to ensure that the give their wards lslamic education to build an egalitarian society and better their life morally.
The occasion featured presentation of certificates and recitation of the Holy Qur’an by the 5 graduating students, Alh. Umar Faruq Balarabe Abdullahi, Hashir Hamza, Muhibbah Balarabe Abdullahi, Khadija Adamu Idris and Hauwa Yusuf Suleiman respectively.
The former Speaker of the State Assembly Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Maiyadi, the Chief Iman of Arrahmah Central Mosque Abuja, the State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barr. Abubakar Imam Zanwa, former Majority Leader of the State Assembly, Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga and Secretary State Teacher’s Service Commission, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa among others identified with the school and urged all to give priority to the education of their children.
The occasion also had in attendance Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali, Hon. Muhammed Agah Muluku, Hon. Abdullahi Dahiru Angibi and Hon. Usman Yakubu Dodo among others.
