Member Representing Lafia Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, has commended GovernorĀ Abdullahi Sule for implementing resolutions of the State House of Assembly leading to enhancement of governance in the State.
Hon. Akwashiki (SDP), who doubled asĀ the Minority Whip of the House praised the Governor while playing host to over Five different groups within and outside his domen who paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital today.
The Lawmaker who commended the leadership style of Gov. Abdullahi Sule said he is particularly impressed with the present administration for implementing most of the resolutions of the House especially on issues he brought forward on matters of public interest just as he commended the Speaker Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau for stabilizing the House thus making it people’s oriented.
Among those that were at the Assembly included Unity Chamber of Ombi 2, Lafia, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ECDA Women Wing Lafia, Rindre Youth Forum, Southern Zone, Neighbour to Neighbour SDP Group Tudun Kauri, Girls Brigade 61 District who issued award of responsive leadership quality to the lawmaker.
The groups individually passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker urging him to expand his political tentacles and look inward to contest for the seat of Lafia/Obi Federal constituency come 2027.
This, they said that their calls were based on Hon. Akwashiki purposeful leadership and to enable the people of Lafia/Obi Federal constituency enjoy federal government presence.
Comrade Yahaya Allu Sani, the Chairman of Unity Chamber Ombi 11 Lafia led members of the Chamber on the courtesy call.
The Chairman also appreciated the lawmaker for initiating projects towards improving on the standard of living of the people of Lafia Central constituency.
“We are calling on you to come out in 2027 to be our sole mandate as a member, House of Representatives Lafia/ Obi Federal constituency.
” Our call is based on your track records in office so far,” he said.
“You empowered 47 youths under your payroll as member representing Lafia Central constituency, you have influenced appointment of 72 youths.
“Grading of Seven Kilometer Road from Lafia to Akasa, Drilling of 49 new boreholes, rehabilitation of several transformers within the constituency.
” You moved several motions at the floor of the House including the one of electricity that benefit the people of the state, because of you we are enjoying electricity in the state today” he said.
He also appreciated Hon Akwashiki for registered over 150 students for JAMB.
“You shared 12 vehicles to your constituency during your one year anniversary.
“Empowering several women within the constituency with cash worth millions of Naira” he said.
The Chairman, however, appealed for employment, mobility, grinding machines among other support to enable them support their businesses, fertilizers, improve seedling, irrigation, machine, herbicides among others.
In a related development, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) Lafia LGA, led by its Chairperson, Mrs Juliana Akuaden also called on Hon Solomon Akwashiki to contest for Lafia/Obi Federal constituency come 2027.
She appreciated the lawmaker for touching on the lives of the people of Lafia Central constituency positively.
The ECDA Chairperson assured the lawmaker of their prayers and support at all times.
Also visited the lawmaker are Rindre Youths from Nasarawa South led by Mr Usman Umar, Girls Brigade of Nigeria 61st District Lafia led by Rev. Ekero Bamaiyi and Neighbour to Neighbour for SDP Tudun Kauri Lafia led by Alhaji Abubakar Umar Baba, all appreciated Akwashiki for his good leadership style.
They said that Akwashiki is making them proud, hence the need of the visit to appreciate him and to urge him to do more.
They prayed and wished Hon Akwashiki well in his political career beyond 2027.
They, however, appealed to the lawmaker for employment and other support.
In his response to the various groups, Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, member representing Lafia Central constituency appreciated the groups for the visit and assured them of continuous quality representation at the state legislature.
” One year is enough to perform credibly well in office. Thank you for assessing me. I have done my best by empowering my people, giving jobs, registered JAMB for students among other projects.
” You have showered encomiums on me as Mr Project, I want to say thank you again for that.
” I want to assure you of my continuous readiness to put smiles in your faces through execution of people’s oriented projects” he said.
Hon. Akwashiki said he would respond to their calls on the need for him to contest for Lafia/Obi Federal constituency at an appropriate time.
” I have heard your calls for me to go higher in 2027. I will answer your calls at an appropriate time” he said.
The lawmaker also urged Nigerians to only vote credible and God fearing leaders in order to enjoy dividends of democracy.
” Let’s all shun religious and ethnic politics as hunger did not know religious and tribe.
” Let’s continue to live in unity and peace irrespective of our affiliations” he added.
Hon. Akwashiki pledged to support the groups activities to succeed as he pledged to give Unity Chamber Ombi one grinding machine just as he appointed one Rindre Youths as one of his Personal Assistant (PA).
He urged them to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule and Speaker Danladi Jatau to succeed.
It would be reported that The Girls Brigade of Nigeria 61st District has given Award of Excellence to Hon Akwashiki for his selfless, excellent and Exemplary services to humanity.
