Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has urged parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children for the overall development of the country.
The Speaker made the call during the naming ceremony of Khadijat, daughter of Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, (Adon Garin) Lafia held at Emir Palace Lafia today.
Speaker Jatau said that children are special gift from God, hence the need for parents to train their children in a Godly way, through morality, religious and western education.
“I pray God to protect, guide and give the baby sound and good health,” he said.
The Speaker also prayed God to give Adon Garin Lafia the ability to train his children.
Also Speaking, the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Mohammed (Rtd) congratulated Adon Garin on the successful naming ceremony of his new born baby.
The Emir of Lafia, who spoke through Emir of Azara, Dr Kabiru Musa Ibrahim prayed God to give the baby sound health.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Imam of Lafia Central Mosque, Mallam Yusuf Abdullahi while presiding over the naming ceremony urged parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children.
He also urged parents to give their children religious and western education for the overall development of the country.
The Deputy Chief Imam also prayed for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country.
Praise singers and palace guards also added colour to the event which had in attendance lawmakers, commissioners and other personalities Nasarawa Speaker, Emir of Laifa task parents on proper upbringing of children.
