NBC, Ebuebu Attends Cross Boarder Workshop on Access To Information in Cotonou.

In a bid to resolve cross border population access to information, Director General, National Broadcasting Commission NBC, Mr Charles Ebuebu is attending a two day workshop in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
The cross border collaboration which begin on Monday , February 19 attracted heads of organisations charged with information dissemination across the African continent.
With the sole aim of charting a new course that will leverage on access to information, challenges and opportunities, cross border populations access to information exposed to multi dimensional conflicts, especially security concerns and multiple consequences of citizens living together.
With the local media expected to play a crucial role in the maintainance of peace and social cohesion, and can also facilitate mutual understanding of development issues and dialogue within communities across the sub region.
The program sponsored by the Swiss Cooperation in Benin, through it’s regional portfolio and supports for cross border development, initiated the process aimed at rejigging the local media as vehicles for the dissemination of sound , quality information in this fragile regional context.
Discussions and analysis at the workshop will be determined on the realities of Benin and it’s borders with Burkina Faso , Togo, Niger, and Nigeria.
The Director General, National Broadcasting Commission NBC, Dr Charles Ebuebu is expected to present a paper at the program as part of it’s contributions and regional collaborations that will ensure the success of the program.
