NGO donates solar boreholes to school, community in Wako chiefdom

An International Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Wells For Hope (HP) has commissioned two solar boreholes it built for residents of Unguwar Azarachi and Government Secondary School (GSS) Dangara in Wako chiefdom of Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT
Speaking the during formal handing over/commissioning of the borehole at GSS Dangara on Monday, the President of Wells for Hope (HP)Kenneth Wang, said his desire to sink solar boreholes WA aimed at cushion effects of water problem facing the school.
He said his NGO, which is founded by America High Schoolers has been into offering assistance especially in the area of water to various towns and communities in Nigeria, saying many rural communities lack access to portable drinking water, hence, his desire to provide water for also people of Unguwar Azarachi in Wako.
“Besides, ever since I was a kid I used to come to Wako community, in which I later discovered that they are having challenge of lack of access to portable drinking water. And out of compassion, I decided to sink two borehole for both the secondary school and people of Azarachi,” he said.

In his address, the Etsu of Wako chiefdom, Alhaji Abdulaziz Usman Ibrahim, appreciated God almighty for making the commissioning of the solar boreholes projects a reality under his reign.
He noted that the donation of the two solar boreholes by the NGO was also part consolidation of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
“Long before now, water had been one of the challenges facing the school and entire Dangara community. And as one of the product of this great school, we used to go as far as Sabicha stream to fetch water but today, a big sigh of relief has come the way of both students, staff and people of Dangara community,” he said.
The monarch, commended the president of the NGO for providing two solar boreholes for both the school and people of Azarachi, even as he advised beneficiaries of the boreholes to ensure they make good use of the boreholes donated to them.
He also thanked the managing director of Viju Milk industry located in his chiefdom for collaboration with the NGO in providing access to portable drinking water for his subjects in the area.
On his part, the village chief of Dangara, Malam Umar Salihu, commended the NGO for sinking borehole at the school, even as he appealed for sinking of two boreholes for his subjects in the community.
“The only borehole we have in Dangara community is the one Senator Heebat Ireti Kingibe sank for us and the moment there was no sun, my people have to go to the stream to fetch water,” he said.
